The beginning, CMC Rail
In 1963, CMC Rail began as a small artisanal workshop, producing metal frameworks for Alfa Romeo’s generator sets, die-casting machine frames, and ventilation units. Over the first decade, the company built a reputation for excellence in quality, which led to the expansion of its facilities and a broader product offering. CMC Rail started manufacturing truck bodies and automotive components for Alfa Romeo, while also specializing in galvanized steel structures for the industrial air conditioning sector.

The founders’ deep knowledge of the railway industry opened new doors, enabling CMC Rail to partner with major players like Italian Railways (FF.SS). This marked the beginning of a solid presence in the supply of welded carbon steel components. By 1985, following years of steady growth, CMC Rail expanded once again, adding the production of soundproof cabins, bases, and mobile units for generator sets to its portfolio.
The company’s continued evolution in the following years saw it strengthen its foothold in the railway sector, introducing welded light alloy components to its product range. In the 1990s, CMC Rail launched its in-house technical office, transitioning from a manufacturer to a full-service provider that handled CAD design and structural validation through finite element analysis. This shift allowed CMC Rail to take on significant projects and cement its reputation as a leader in the industry.
With the introduction of the Clima Processor brand, CMC Rail expanded further into the railway air conditioning market, as well as into key industrial sectors such as energy storage, data centers, and medical applications.
Since the very beginning, we have been involved in the design, engineering, and production of all our machines. And we still do it now.
Today, CMC Rail and Clima Processor operate across more than 10,000 square meters of production area, distributed over three facilities located near the original production site in Cologno Monzese, only a few kilometers away from Milan, Italy. These facilities are organized into five distinct production areas: laser cutting, welding, CNC machining, hydraulic presses, and automatic pipes bending. This extensive infrastructure allows us to efficiently manage and execute a wide range of manufacturing processes in-house, ensuring high-quality standards and timely deliveries.
Currently, the company employs over 50 people, each contributing to the continuous growth and success of the business. Thanks to the expertise and dedication of our team, we have been able to expand our reach beyond the Italian market and successfully export our products worldwide. Our commitment to innovation and precision, coupled with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, has positioned us as a trusted partner in the global cooling and railway industries.
The birth of Clima Processor.
Born from the experience gained in railway air conditioning, Clima Processor was established in the 2000s as a brand that now sells air conditioning systems worldwide. Every product in our catalog is designed, developed, and manufactured in-house by our research and development team. We handle the complete design process, and we are also able to provide thermal analysis, FEM analysis, and perform tests within our own climate chamber. Each product we create undergoes rigorous testing before shipment, ensuring that we deliver reliable and comprehensive cooling solutions.
We also take care of the maintenance of our machines in the field, offering on-site assistance services. The main sectors we work in include the medical field, where we provide HVAC and chiller solutions for medical equipment, as well as compact air conditioning units for both indoor and outdoor installations. We also design air conditioning systems and chillers for the railway sector, and cooling solutions for data centers, technical rooms, transformer cabins, and battery storage systems.
